Gallery 4: Forlandsund and Isfjord

Spitsbergen with SV Antigua, September 2018

The late season brings opportunities such as legally landing in the bird sanctuaries, mostly little islands where you can discover a lot on all different scales, from small details to large panoramas. Hermansenøya had a lot to offer especially to the friends of macro photography. And to everybody else.

Also further south on the west coast, just north of Isfjord, the tundra and the stunning coastal scenery brought incredibly beautiful impressions.

We finished the day in Barentsburg. It was a bit of a late night for some.

We started the next days also in Barentsburg. Some a bit later than others.

In the afternoon, the weather gave us a taste of what it can also be like. Going alongside in Longyearbyen in strong winds was quite challenging.
