Pyramiden: Lenin

360° panorama

The Lenin bust is probably the northernmost one of its kind, unless there is another one somewhere in those few parts of the Russian arctic which are even further north. I have been to the old station on Rudolf Island in northern Franz Josef Land and I haven’t seen any Lenin there (I may just have missed it, it is quite a while ago now). There is one in Longyearbyen, but that one is made of plastic, so maybe it does not count … it is standing behind the bar in Kroa, a popular pub. And then, there is of course a Lenin in Barentsburg, which is made of granite just as the one here in Pyramiden.

Let me know if you know of any Lenin further north.
