Tunabreen, Von Postbreen

Tunabreen (-glacier) terminates with its calving front at innermost Tempelfjord, directly neighbouring Von Postbreen south of it, which as receded so far that it does not have a steep cliff anymore. 1/2

In 2018 and 2019, the Sysselmannen introduced a ban on motorised traffic in innner Tempelfjord during the high season in spring, something that is likely to be continued in future years. Additionally, the fjord ice is deteriorating in recent years due to climate. Due to both, the ice cliff of Tunabreen is not regularly accessible anymore.

One more time, because it is so beautiful: the ice cliff of Tunabreen in Tempelfjord. Early May.
