Photography and hiking in and around Longyearbyen and Pyramiden
04-12 September, 2016
If you have been following this website and blog for a while, you may have got the impression that there is no way to travel Spitsbergen in summer other than by ship. Wrong. (as some say …)
In contrast, it does have charme to sleep on solid ground, to wake up where you fell asleep the evening (or a few hours …) before. To spend more time in fewer places. To get to know these places well. To give these places time to make impressions on you. To discover them. To find great details and perspectives for photography. To do good hikes.
That is what we did in and near Longyearbyen and Pyramiden. The following photo galleries give some impressions (and so does the blog):

The companion book for the Svalbardhytter poster. The poster visualises the diversity of Spitsbergen‘s huts and their stories in a range of Arctic landscapes. The book tells the stories of the huts in three languages.
Comprehensive guidebook about Spitsbergen. Background (wildlife, plants, geology, history etc.), practical information including travelling seasons, how to travel, description of settlements, routes and regions.
Join an exciting journey with dog, skis and tent through the wintery wastes of East Greenland! We were five guys and a dog when we started in Ittoqqortoormiit, the northernmost one of two settlements on Greenland’s east coast.
12 postcards which come in a beautifully designed tray. Beautiful images from South Georgia across Antarctica from the Antarctic Peninsula to the Ross Sea and up to Macquarie Island and Campbell Island.
