Whales and northern lights

Orca, Kvænangen, Norway 2024

We saw ple­nty of wha­les, espe­ci­al­ly hump­back wha­les and orcas.

As Cap­tain Dou­we put it near the end of the trip (slight­ly shor­ten­ed): “the worst wea­ther, the best wha­les”. That pret­ty much nails it. Add the week we had befo­re to this one and you get two weeks wit­hout a real sun­ray. Wind up to storm force, rain and snow, clouds, clouds, clouds.

The bet­ter if you nevert­hel­ess mana­ge to enjoy a good trip with a lot of unfor­gettable memo­ries! And that’s what we got. Enorm­ous num­bers of wha­les, espe­ci­al­ly the hump­backs were ama­zing, real­ly spec­ta­cu­lar! And the orcas … yes, we saw a lot of them, too 🐋😊

Thanks to all of you who were the­re and made it hap­pen in such an enjoya­ble way, even in the worst of wea­ther!
