Spitsbergen with SV Antigua, 09th-27th July 2022

Anti­gua in Isfjord.

A very spe­cial voya­ge! This is gene­ral­ly what we want, but this time things also went a slight­ly dif­fe­rent way becau­se of the SAS pilot strike. Out of 31 par­ti­ci­pan­ts, only 10 could come as sche­du­led. We could pick up ano­ther 9 a cou­ple of days later, and the others did not have a chan­ce to come, to their and our gre­at dis­ap­point­ment.

So it felt like we actual­ly did two trips: 5 days in Isfjord, then back to Lon­gye­ar­by­en, get (more) pas­sen­gers on board, and off again … with 19 pas­sen­gers on board. Very sad for all who wan­ted to join but couldn’t!

During the first (almost) week, with a smal­ler group, the wea­ther was a bit grey and wet, and as soon as the others come, the sun soon came out and stay­ed with us for a while, chee­ring tho­se up who had missed the first cou­ple of days. Also later, we were lar­ge­ly lucky with the wea­ther, only one after­noon got “lost” due to den­se fog, but other than that, we were able to get to a lot of stun­ning places and see and do a lot.

The­re are two ver­si­ons of the tri­plog. The only dif­fe­rence is the file size and hence the print qua­li­ty. Other than that, they are iden­ti­cal. And any­way, the tri­plog is in Ger­man.
