Sep­tem­ber in Spits­ber­gen: mush­rooms

We star­ted with an ama­zing sun­set in the ent­rance of Isfjord (which for us was the exit at that time 🤪) fol­lo­wed by a love­ly day in For­lands­und, in Eidem­buk­ta and on Her­man­senøya. And yet ano­ther stun­ning sun­set.

In Kongsfjord, we visi­ted Ny-Åle­sund and the migh­ty gla­ciers deeper in the fjord. Light and ice con­di­ti­ons were stun­ning!

We spent the next day on the nor­t­hern west coast, start­ing at Fjer­de­breen, one of the huge gla­ciers in that wild area. This expo­sed coast is only acces­si­ble in the best of wea­ther and sea con­di­ti­ons. Very cool stuff 😎

From Fjer­de­breen we con­tin­ued to Kob­befjord on Dan­s­køya. This is whe­re we left the west coast behind us for a while.
