Part 1: from Longyearbyen to northwest Spitsbergen
September in Spitsbergen: mushrooms
We started with an amazing sunset in the entrance of Isfjord (which for us was the exit at that time 🤪) followed by a lovely day in Forlandsund, in Eidembukta and on Hermansenøya. And yet another stunning sunset.
In Kongsfjord, we visited Ny-Ålesund and the mighty glaciers deeper in the fjord. Light and ice conditions were stunning!
In Kongsfjord. The right of light is a halo.
We spent the next day on the northern west coast, starting at Fjerdebreen, one of the huge glaciers in that wild area. This exposed coast is only accessible in the best of weather and sea conditions. Very cool stuff 😎

From Fjerdebreen we continued to Kobbefjord on Danskøya. This is where we left the west coast behind us for a while.
