With SV Antigua at Spitsbergen's west coast
September 15-24, 2014
Spitsbergen’s west coast fjords from mid September onwards – sunsets and northern lights instead of the midnight sun. We had to wait a bit for both, as we had an impressive early onset of winter, with strong winds and lots of snow and cold during the first days. This was also quite an experience. And the beautiful September light was to follow …
Initially, we spent some days exploring in and around Longyearbyen. There is a separate page with photos from these days (click here).
