Around Spitsbergen 26 August - 8 September, 2022 with SV Meander
Triplog and photo galleries
SV Meander at Bråsvellbreen.
We were really excited about this trip – 2022 was the first time SV Meander was in Spitsbergen, and this very trip was to be her first circumnavigation of the island. A great ship, a great crew (Mario, I am looking forward to more of this!), and a great group! We did a lot, we saw a lot, we experienced a lot. We had a lot of fun and a great time!
As usual, we let the weather guide us. Hence, we turned south. We landed in a good couple of places which have hardly ever been visited by tourists, for example Dunderbukta on the west coast south of Bellsund, the evening walk to a very lonely hill in Diskobukta on Edgeøya, Zeiløya in Freemansund (I experienced this little island as a real highlight. That is probably hard to understand or to explain, but I really enjoyed the evening visit there big time) and Gimleodden and Bråvika on Nordaustland, to mention some of the places that are likely to be unknown to most people. And we went to so many beautiful places beyond these. But have a look yourself by clicking through the photo galleries on the pages linked below.
Triplog Spitsbergen with SV Meander, 26 August – 8 September, 2022
There are two versions of the triplog. The only difference is the file size and hence the print quality. Other than that, they are identical. And anyway, the triplog is in German.
Evening light on Edgeøya. The landscape may, at the first glance, appear barren, but upon closer inspection it appears to be full of interesting details and scenic charme.
Join the voyage online …
… by visiting a number of the places that we have been two. The pages listed below are dedicated to individual sites in Spitsbergen. They have 360 degree panoramic images, some background information and sometimes additional photos.
