Gallery 3: Back in and around Longyearbyen

After an unforgettable trip back to Longyearbyen in the most beautiful september evening light you can imagine, we went for another mountain hike again on the last day. On the way up, we saw the one and only place near the coal mining place Longyearbyen where you can actually see the coal as it is part of the mountain, the way it has been more than 40 million years before erosion brought it back to the surface again.

The final views of Longyearbyen, the endless high mountain plateaux and the wide valley Adventdalen made an almost melancholic impression, as it was the last hike of this tour. But we celebrated the good days duly during our final dinner at Kroa.
