Hamil­ton­buk­ta i Raud­fjord

Our next desti­na­ti­on was Raud­fjord, whe­re the fog crea­ted some very atmo­sphe­ric impres­si­ons in scenic Hamil­ton­buk­ta.

The litt­le walk in Ali­ce­ham­na (Bruce­n­eset) was real­ly not long at all, but it was beau­tiful and in the deep snow, you don’t need much distance to burn some calo­ries 🙂

The litt­le late after­noon crui­se in Klin­c­kow­ström­fjord (the eas­tern one of Raudfjord’s two inner bran­ches) tur­ned out to be a not-so-litt­le high­light, with sun, fjor­di­ce in the pro­cess of brea­king up, at least two Min­ke wha­les, count­less Brünich’s guil­l­emots and the sur­roun­ding sce­n­ery of moun­ta­ins and gla­ciers.

The next day had seve­ral more high­lights. Start­ing with seve­ral thousand litt­le auks on Fug­le­son­gen, we con­tin­ued into Fuglefjord with the migh­ty gla­cier Svitjod­breen.

Later, we sigh­ted ano­ther polar bear in Kob­befjord on Dan­s­køya. Ano­ther unex­pec­ted wild­life sight­ing in exch­an­ge for a landing. Not bad.
