Part 2: from Kongsfjord to Raudfjord

Coastal landscape, Midtholmen

Coas­tal land­scape at Mid­thol­men. Lové­nøya­ne, Kongsfjord.

After the first two days in Isfjord we went nor­thwards. We star­ted in Kongsfjord at the love­ly litt­le island of Mid­thol­men, one of Lové­nøya­ne, and con­tin­ued to Ny-Åle­sund.

The next day saw us at Spitsbergen’s nor­thwest cor­ner, whe­re we took a clas­sic approach and visi­ted Vir­go­ham­na and Smee­ren­burg, fol­lo­wed by the migh­ty Svitjod­breen in Fuglefjord.

More gla­ciers and spec­ta­cu­lar sce­n­ery came in Hamil­ton­buk­ta, fol­lo­wed by a litt­le hike deeper in Raud­fjord.
