Sassendalen and Fredheim

A first excur­si­on into Sas­send­a­len, to exci­ting ice and rock sce­n­ery at Esker­fos­sen and to Hil­mar Nøis’ famous hut Fred­heim. I had the rare oppor­tu­ni­ty to pano-pho­to­graph Fred­heim insi­de, and we are curr­ent­ly pre­pa­ring a vir­tu­al tour of Spitsbergen’s most famous his­to­ri­cal trap­per hut ☺

Tem­pel­fjord, howe­ver, is far too open for the sea­son. The fjords don’t real­ly want to free­ze over this year.
