The best things in life just happen unexpectedly. That is how it worked with our landing on the exposed southernmost coast of Spitsbergen.

Nobody will forget Isbukta and, later, the whales in Storfjord under glittering sunshine. Or the rare landing on the east coast with dinosaur footprints, a polar fox family, a rugged coastline, lovely tundra and an elevated perspective.

Negribreen was a stunning experience. Parts of this mighty glacier are currently surging. Its calving ice cliff is completely broken and wild, and up to 70 m (!) high in places!
