Snow shoe hike in Trygg­ham­na.

In this second, some­what shorter part of the trip, we had a few won­derful days ahead of us in Isfjord, which is an almost infi­ni­te play­ground with – depen­ding on how you count – around ele­ven side arms. Spits­ber­gen in a pret­ty big nuts­hell, whe­re you can actual­ly find ever­y­thing you could pos­si­bly want. Howe­ver, not ever­y­thing is always available: as far as polar bears are con­cer­ned, we ulti­m­ate­ly had to make do with tracks – we lacked that litt­le bit of luck that you just need at the end of the day. We were always in the right place, just not at the right time. But ever­y­thing else was the­re: the most beau­tiful land­scapes of all kinds, snow and ice, tun­dra, reinde­er, a beau­tiful bit of sai­ling …
